• 100g Lovemore Shortbread Thistle Biscuits
  • 5 dessert apples
  • 175g light brown soft sugar
  • 100g golden syrup
  • A knob of butter
  • 1 tsp white wine vinegar


Using a rolling pin, smash the Lovemore Shortbread Thistle Biscuits into crumbs.  Place the apples on lollipop sticks and leave on one side.

Mix the sugar, syrup, and vinegar with a dash of water in a saucepan over a gentle heat.

When the sugar has dissolved, turn up the heat and boil the mixture for around 5 minutes until it reaches 150ºc.

Remove from the heat and add the butter to complete your toffee.

Now, dip the apples into the toffee followed by your shortbread crumbs and leave to set.

Enjoy near a nice warm bonfire.
