  • 300g white chocolate

As we’re nearing the festive month, it’s the perfect time to enjoy the warming, rich, fruity flavours of our delicious gluten free slab cakes. Here we’ve put an extra Christmassy twist on the traditional way of enjoying these treats, perfect for the whole family to make together!

The first thing you’ll need to do is break the cake up into small pieces and then blend this in a food processor for a few minutes, until they turn into crumbs.

Shape the crumbs into 10 balls of equal size then place these in the fridge for a few hours, just so they have some time to firm up.

When those are ready it’s time to melt a small amount of chocolate in a glass bowl over a simmering pan of water. Use the lolly sticks to make a hole in each ball, then dip the end of the stick into the now melted chocolate and place back in the hole. Repeat this with all of the sticks and then leave them to set for around 30 minutes.

Melt the remaining chocolate then hold a cake pop over a bowl and use a teaspoon to pour over. You will have to work quite quickly to get a smooth finish, but the finished result is worth it! Tap on the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate, then stick into an upside down colander. Repeat this for all.

Leave to set completely and your cake pops are ready to decorate with a fondant icing hat and nose, and writing icing facial features! Once you’ve perfected the snowman pops, why not try making dark chocolate ones with a white chocolate topping for an adorable Christmas pudding alternative?
